WHAT IS THE ALGONQUEST EXPERIENCE / DIFFERENCE?
The Algonquin is the newest trail in the Pocomoke Forest. The trail begins at the Foster Tract and ends 12.5 miles away at Milburn Landing Campground. A small, pet friendly river front area. The Algonquin connects Worcester County to Wicomico County. Some of the trail is old, some is new, some is single track some is roads.

IS THIS A TIMED EVENT / DO I NEED TO BE COMPETITIVE?
Only those who want to make that a priority are encouraged to do so. We will provide a clock for those of you who want to know your time. This is an event for all bikes but fat bikes will be best in the sand and mud. There are beautiful country roads surrounding the area for those who like pavement.

DO I NEED TO SIGN MY WAIVER TO THE EVENT?
YES. All registrants will need to SIGN their waiver at check in.

HOW SMALL OR BIG DO TEAMS HAVE TO BE?
There is no size requirement for teams, however bigger is better and there will be prizes for different categories for teams, so get creative and call your friends!

DO I HAVE TO BE IN A TEAM TO PARTICIPATE?
No. You do not have to be part of a team.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO PARTICIPATE?
13 or older to participate in the ALGONQUIN race... BUT Spectators there is NO AGE LIMIT! So bring your friends and family members ,they will have a great time watching you get dirty and can join in the fun and festivities with you prior and after the race at our festival! BIKE DEMOS will be available and GET RAMPED will have a pop-up skate park. Smokey Bear will be there Saturday.

ARE THERE WATER OBSTACLES?
There will be a few trails involving water and getting wet and muddy. We encourage you to try all of them but we will have roads marked to go around if things get too deep.

WHAT TIMES CAN I START AND HOW LONG WILL THE COURSE TAKE?
Arrive early Friday after 10 am and ride the trails! The night ride will start around 7pm Friday. The race will begin at 9 am Saturday morning so please be early to participate in class waves.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Minimal works best! Cotton stays wet! Quick dry, biking clothes in layers, whatever you feel most comfortable in is fine by us as long as it is not harmful to yourself or others on the course. No Capes! Get ready to meet in the mud and get dirty!! This trail is low! Teams are encouraged to show off your style! Based on the weather, use your best judgment. Recommendations: MTB shoes, Solid running sneakers, towels, garbage bag, change of clothes and a smile.

CAN I WEAR A COSTUME?
Yes we encourage it! There will be prizes for the BEST and MOST CREATIVE!

ARE THERE AID STATIONS / DO I NEED TO BRING WATER?
EMS Tent will be located in plain sight at the Start/ Finish line. The pavilion will host a fire, food and fun. Safety personnel will be present on the course. Bring hydration bags, Water bottles, tool kits. We will have 2 rest stations throughout the course but we want you to be prepared.

WILL THERE BE A BIKE WASH STATION?
Yes there will bw a bike wash station.

WHAT CAN I WALK AWAY WITH ASIDE FROM THE MEMORY OF A LIFETIME?

IS THERE A PLACE TO STOW MY BAG(S) AND AREA TO WASH OFF AFTER AND MAKE MYSELF PROPER?
A BATH HOUSE with showers will be available for after the race. Yes you can clean yourself and get all dolled up for the rest of the festivities and party afterward. Get ready to get your groove on!!

IS THERE A PLACE TO PARK MY CAR OR TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS?
Parking will be available and varies with camping.

WHAT ARE THE LODGING ACCOMMODATIONS / OPTIONS?
On-site lodging accommodations (in addition to tent areas) include rv sites with electric (water spigots nearby) and mini-cabins are available. DOES ANY OF MY MONEY GO TOWARD A GOOD CAUSE?
Algonquest shall be donating funds from the event to specific charitable organizations. Eastern Shore IMBA, The Wheel House and Worcester County Bicycle Safety Coalition. Participants can be enthusiastic that a portion of their funds shall be going towards trail work, getting people on bikes and bike safety.
